Port Clinton Music Booster
Minutes: 07/17/2006 Time: 6:00 pm.
Attendance: President, Kim Royster, Vice President Amy Krupp, Treasurer, Bob Dodge, Secretary, Gloria Alvarado, Carol & Greg Fox, Rod Miller, Brian Stitak, Theresa Spitler, Becky Zoller, Andrea and Anthony Wells, Brenda, Leslie and Mrs. Fisher
Minutes were read approved by Becky Zoller, second by Molly Dodge.
Bob Dodge states as of 7/14/06 we have received 1, 120 memberships and that the accounting books are being audited by Mr. Celek. Bob is to meet with Mr. Celek on July 18, 2006 to pick up the accounting books. There was a $10,000 CD that was up for renewal and the newly elected board was not aware of said CD and Mrs. Marcia Bloom proceeded to renew the CD and will not be available to us for one year. Bob proceeded in explaining the new accounting he would like to in act by using the RED envelopes. Any person who is dealing with money, purchasing etc. with receive a RED envelope and will be required to submit receipts for payment and will have to fill out a Reimbursement Form Bob has enclosed in each RED envelope. Old Business: Concession Stand Gloria Alvarado and Theresa Spitler have completed cleaning the stands, purchases have to be made yet. It was mentioned that the workers were in need of tongs and other utensils for the stands. For the Saturday morning games Gloria is going to speak with Debbie at McDonalds to see if we can get a deal on burritos for the morning games. The Evan Cooler needs repair, will call Coke and ask them to repair or replace said cooler. A email received from Mrs. Hefflinger stated that she would be delighted in continuing on feeding the Home/Visitors band at every home game. Approved by Becky Zoller second Theresa Spitler
New Business: Band Camp Mr. Rod Miller stated that Band Camp will begin on July 31st thru August 4th and that refreshments should be provided for the band members. Molly Dodge recommended that popsicles, water, fruit and pizza be provided, will need to have volunteers to deliver. Mr. Rod Miller also requested that he be able to hire college students to help him out during band camp. Mr. Bob Dodge stated that there were alumni students that helped out in the past years and possibly they would be available. Mr. Miller stated that he is very appreciative of the help that the alumni could give but that he was afraid of the relationship between the students and the alumni and did not want a buddy, buddy friendship and wanted someone who would be more stern. Mr. Dodge stated that there was a budget of $400 for hiring of staff and that there was $1,100 in a discresenary budget for Mr. Miller use if needed to hire outside staff for band camp.
Posters for Students Mr. Greg Fox presented the Posters to be displayed in every student home with their name and what music department they are in. It was decided that it would possibly be better if we made a locker decoration and Brenda and Leslie offered to make them.
Fruit Sale Carol stated that she was to meet with Marcia Bloom to get prepared for the upcoming fruit sale and that she feels everything will be fine and will hopefully go well. Approved by Molly, second by Carol
New Business: A data base for the music boosters was mentioned and Gloria will create data and will work on the program for Dupps to print.
It was mentioned that an article should be placed in the News Herald/Beacon announcing the New Band Director and that is should also be placed on the School Channel.
