Minutes: 5/14/07 Time: 7:00 pm. Attendance: Treasurer: Bob Dodge, President: Kim Royster, Vice President: Amy Krupp, Secretary: Gloria Alvarado, Rod Miller, Greg & Carol Fox, Kim Rider Secretary Report: read and approved by Carol Fox, second by Amy Krupp. Treasurer Report: read and approved by Kim Royster and Amy Krupp. Directors Reports: Fox, Stitak, Miller and Bixler reports were all read and can be viewed on the website. Unfinished Business: Music in the parks went very well. Concession stand at the High School $142.00 Middle School $86.00, and T-shirts were sold and there was a profit of $64.00. New Business: Fruit Sale: Carol Fox stated that she needed to set sale and deliver dates. They are as follows: Sale Begins October 29 Ends November 16 Delivery December 18 2007-2008 PCMB membership: Kim Royster, Kim Rider and Amy Krupp will being mailing out membership letters on or before June 30, 2007. Director Report -- May 14, 2007 Orchestra
Congratulations to all Orchestra students grades 7-12 for outstanding performances in the last 30 days. High school orchestra gave a great performance of movie scores for their Spring concert and students are currently gearing up for the honors awards assembly on May 25th. Middle school orchestra had 10 events at the recent OMEA solo and ensemble contest with 6 of those events coming away with Superior ratings and 3 with Excellent as their score. Middle schoolers also gave an outstanding performance on Tuesday May 8th at the recent Spring band/choir/orchestra and art show. Elementary string players will be in concert on May 24 in conjunction with elementary band.

Kayla, a junior to be is the daughter of Joel and Shannon Castillo. P The Century Resources fundraiser netted profits of $4500. That money goes to each member traveling to Florida next year. P The Sousa Concert was a rousing success. Donations from the concert totaled $920. P Thank you for all of your support! Having received the Teacher of the Year is a direct reflection on you and our students. I am humbled and honored. The $1000 will be used for educational materials that all of our student-musicians will be able to use for years to come. Thank You!
Music Booster Meeting May 14, 2007 Seventh and Eighth Grade Bands Tom Bixler
1. The 8th grade band had a very successful day at solo and ensemble contest held on April 21. Of the thirteen events entered, ten received the highest mark of superior while the other three received the second highest mark of excellent. 2. The 7th and 8th grade concert band performed a concert on May 8, and performed at the District 2 Large Group Adjudicated Event on May 12. The band performed well at both events. Thanks to Mrs. Zoeller and Mrs. Auxter for chaperoning the trip. 3. The band’s final performance for the year will be May 28, at the Memorial Day ceremony. 4. Preliminary numbers for band next year are: a. 6th grade – 35- This is without any recruitment b. 7th grade – 33 c. 8th grade – 23 These are very “unofficial” numbers that will fluctuate as the spring/summer progresses. 5. Thank-you to all music boosters for your support this year. Without your support, we would not be able to do the things we do!

Touch of Class members performed at the Catawba Island Club for annual Port Clinton Chamber of Commerce Awards Night on Friday April 20 at 7:00 P.M. We received a $150.00 donation from the chamber.
On Saturday April 21 senior Chorale/Touch of Class members Logan Ford, Ryan Brown, and Greg Bartels sang the wedding music for alumnus Amanda Wharton at Gypsum Community Church.
On Saturday April 21 the following fourteen out of eighteen Port Clinton Middle School choir members traveled to district competition. Thursday April 26 twenty-eight high school students attended the final opera production for this school year at the Valentine Theater in Toledo. We departed the high school at 4:00 p.m. and returned at 11:00 p.m.
Saturday April 28 members of Touch of Class participated in the Terra Community College concert in the PAC at 7:00 p.m.
Thirteen middle school choir members attended the United States Navy Sea Chanters concert on Saturday May 5 with my wife Carol and I. Afterward they were introduced to the group members backstage and were given CD’s of the group.
The Port Clinton Middle School Spring Concert was outstanding on Tuesday May 8, 2007
High School choir members are volunteering to perform the national anthem at the district tennis tournaments on our courts at PCHS. The next scheduled tournaments are this Thursday morning and Saturday morning.
We hosted the Music In the Parks festival on Friday May 11/ Saturday May 12. Thanks to Kim Royster, Mrs. Sebastiano, Ginny Stephenson, Becky Zoeller, Carol Fox, Rod Miller, and Brian Stitak for making everthing come off smoothly. We need volunteers again on Saturday morning May 26 at the high school stage and the middle school stage. We need a person for the concesions at each building, a person on the registration table, a person to be the MC/announcer on the stage, and an adult outside to greet the busses and the visiting directors. Thanks too to the MS and HS music students for their help. We made $1,500.00 last weekend, and we will receive $1,00.00 on May 26.
The last choir concert is this Thursday May 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the PAC. It will feature the music from The Phantom of the Opera and also the nine seniors in the choirs.
There will be a field trip day on one of the make-up school days for the middle school choirs to travel to the area nursing homes and/or the elementary buildings.
